A SALUTE TO TEXAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL –
2004 Best Practices Award Winner
At this year’s ASHP Mid-Year Meeting in Orlando, Baxa held a reception where we presented Texas Children’s Hospital with the Baxa Best Practices Award for 2004. Many Baxa customers are doing innovative things with our products, but no customer has epitomized our view of Baxa users like Texas Children’s.
The 2004 award winner was chosen because its operations demonstrate the best current practices for patient safety and pharmacy efficiency.
Mixing more than 90 TPN and other nutritional IV solutions a day with two EM2400 Systems certainly makes TCH a top user of our automated compounders. Preparing more unit dose oral liquids in Exacta-Med® Oral Dispensing Syringes than any other hospital in the world has made them a leading Baxa customer for nearly all of our 30 years of business. Preparing their hazardous drugs with the PhaSeal System since early 2002 has made them a leader in the safe handling of hazardous drugs.
Baxa is proud of the relationship and dialogue we’ve developed with Texas Children’s over the years. We appreciate customers who let us know what they like and what concerns them. Many of our product improvements are the result of candid feedback from Texas Children’s and similar outspoken customers.
For 30 years, Baxa has supported the best in hospital pharmacy practice through its products and services. The company’s focus is on developing products that promote healthcare safety and pharmacy efficiency. The Best Practices award allows Baxa to give something back to one of the many great examples of operational excellence. Through its Web site and technical publications, Baxa provides best practice recommendations for fluid handling and administration to hospital pharmacists, technicians and nurses.
We are fortunate to have a number of customers using a broad range of our products with whom we’ve built life-long relationships of service and support. Baxa is pleased to begin a new tradition by recognizing one of our oldest and best customers for their contribution to the best practices in hospital pharmacy.
