SAFE HANDLING OF HAZARDOUS DRUGS
Program Now Available on CD
The ASHP Exhibitor’s Theatre program, “Using a Closed-System Device to Reduce Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Drugs” is now available in a multimedia CD format. This 50-minute educational program features Jim Jorgenson, MS, RPh, FASHP, Director of Pharmacy for the University of Utah hospital system.
The program discusses precautions for handling hazardous drugs, contamination studies conducted at the University of Utah, the impact of the recent NIOSH Alert on safe handling, and the use of closed-system devices for safe preparation and administration without environmental contamination.
