PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:


PROGRAM GOALS:

Classes are taught in a state-of-the-art facility designed for cleanroom education. Topics covered include cleanroom workflow design and layout, engineering controls and airflow science and understanding the design and practice implications of the NIOSH Alert on hazardous drug handling.

Attendees completing this program will understand the principles of a compliant USP <797> facility and how to incorporate sterile workflow processes effectively into facility designs. Participants will have the opportunity to brainstorm and discuss current issues affecting their facilities with experts in cleanroom design and active members of the USP council of experts.




TARGET AUDIENCE:

The Facility Design and Engineering Controls for USP <797> is a full-day course designed to provide hands-on training that defines how USP <797> facility requirements can be implemented successfully into a healthcare setting. Healthcare architects, engineers and facility managers involved in facility design will benefit from this course. Faculty includes subject matter experts in USP <797> requirements, environmental consulting, cleanroom architecture and healthcare facility construction.




CONTINUING EDUCATION:

Design Arts Seminars, Inc. is a Registered Provider with The American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Systems (AIA/CES).

This seminar entitled "Facility Design and Engineering Controls for USP ⁢797>" is registered with the AIA under number ERS001 for 8 HSW continuing education credits.

Upon completion, those who qualify will receive a certificate of continuing education issued by Design Arts Seminars, Inc. AIA-registered courses are either automatically accepted for CE credits OR are regarded favorably by states with continuing education requirements but without pre-approval procedures and are therefore accepted for CE credits in most states requiring mandatory continuing education for architects: AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MN, MS, NE, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OH, OK, OR, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, WV and WY.

You do not need to be a member of any professional organization in order for AIA-registered credits to apply toward your state-issued license or registration. As always, final discretion is up to the state board regulating architecture in your state (if any). Those holding a membership in the AIA may also earn CE Credits toward their membership CE requirements. Please note that the number of credits listed are those as registered with the AIA. Credits and HSW status may (even though they generally do not) vary per state and profession. Final discretion is up to the Board.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Registration cancellations must be made in writing to the STAR Center no later than two weeks before the scheduled session. Refund requests are subject to a $100.00 cancellation fee. Registration may be deferred to a later scheduled session. Baxa reserves the right to cancel scheduled classes in the event of a faculty conflict, inclement weather or if there are not enough registered attendees. In the event of a Baxa cancellation, participants will be issued a full refund or the opportunity to reschedule for another class if available.
